I'm sure there are other ways to do GIF eyes, but this is the only way I know of><

Thanks for the tutorial! So just to clarify; if you're doing this with full body characters, you have to have 4 (or how ever many) copies of the whole art just with changes to the eyes and drop them into the program, or is it just the eyes you have to copy?

hey there--yeah, this is SUPER old, and I stored that file that I had
But I know use a different method of animating xD
But...I think you just change the eyes, as long as the file is the same size as the previous image, when you drop the next layer of eyes, make sure its the exact same size as the previous one.

I think it can be used on a mac too, but I use it with my old, run-down Windows computer.

it takes soo long to do digital art, and its hard for me to do digital while I'm busy, so I normally/usually do traditional, because all you need are a few quick sketches and your done^^
By the way, how do you tag people in your DA submissions/pictures you post up onto DA?

i dont have a tablet so takes longer than others who do. yeah, quick sketches. could even draw at school when i wanted to do (which i do a lot), just need pencil/pen and paper.
to tag someone, you type : icon (whatever name is) : with out the spaces i put in it.

It takes sooo long to do my art in digital because I'm using a mouse, and slow programs such as MicrosoftPaint (comes with every computer) and a really cool, free program called GIMP. (its free, just download it^^ I used GIMP for the smeargle artwork I did today
haha, but I might get one for my birthday this year so I'm happy! ^^ really want a Wacom bamboo tablet <3 its my dream!

do u scan ur art then draw over it with the programs or do u just straight out draw on the program? ive had GIMP before but i couldnt figure out how to use it lol so i uninstalled it. Got SAI and Photoshop and Paint.Net and Microsoft Paint tho so its all good XD

well...for traditional art, I would scan my art, buuut...I don't have a scanner. I'm rather quite poor (since I spend all my money on clothes and my parents won't let me use their scanner-->its all the way up in their room)so I just use my old crappy camera to take a photo of the drawing, then I upload it onto my computer and post it up
Or if I want to make it digital, I draw it(traditionally) then upload it(with camera and usb drive) and then use my mouse to 'digitalize' it on MSPaint or Gimp or whatever program it is that I have on my computer.
Oh, to answer your original question, yeah I take the photo and draw over it with the programs digitally.^^ (sorry for that long blab@_@)

OMIGOODNESS!! with those you don't even need gimp! heck, those programs are 100000x much better than gimp!! I just don't have the money to get them ;_;

Don't worry, with all those UBER COOL programs, you have no need of gimp! gimp is just...yeah, its really complicated to use and everyone prefers those programs you've got over gimp.

Sure! gimp is actually the most hard thing I've ever had to deal with! the first time I used it was on the artpiece shown on my DA profile(commission for crona neko) I had so much trouble with it and was so clueless...but I've been with it for about a few months now so I've gotten used to it by now, although each day, I'm finding a few things about it that I never had before!
I'm pretty much still a beginner with gimp, so I'm not too sure if I can give you a tutorial, but I'd definitely try my best, if I could; but I think you don't need one, since you've got 'TO-DIE-FOR' programs already(such as sai and photoshop)
But if you really want a tutorial on gimp, I can see what I can do and I'll try my best><

hm, i might start doing that. for my digital, i just draw straight out but 9/10 times, it looks like crap so maybe ill do scanning first.
well, i still wanna use GIMP b/c might give me different colorin style, like on SAI (which i use mostly) and Paint.Net (the other i use mostly), i have different coloring styles on them.

Haha, well if you have a scanner, you should just scan it in. I just don't have one thats why I use a camera ;_;

The thing is, even if your hand is wobbly with using only your mouse, get used to it and make the wobbles look right/cool/etc!
Get used to using the mouse and improve thereon!
That way you can draw straight lines and be proud, without using a tablet ^^
just keep on practicing though, thats how I do my digital art now, I use only my mouse
haha no wayy, Sai has practically everything gimp has...and more!
(Well except for the 'smudging' I think, because when I tried looking for that on Sai, I couldn't find it, but who knows? maybe I wasn't looking hard enough!
and its easier to use Sai, because of the layers

I LOVE SAI! but I don't think I'll get it when I get the tablet, because photoshop's enough for me ^^
Unless I just magically decide not to spend my money on clothes and start saving up, but I don't think that'd happen, so I'll just stick with the photoshop*whenIgetit* and also gimp, and MSPaint^^
