Wow, I love this, it's so intense!
You know, I tried to enter that contest by submitting a violin with wine cups photo, and it was rejected because it had to be inspired by a movie, a song or a book. Anyway, I haven't seen this movie yet, though I'd love to, but a couple of days ago I saw a violinist in an orchestra playing the music from that movie! In fact, she's the owner of the Stradivarious that inspired the movie! shoot, I'm so lucky to have seen her

She was here in Puerto Rico since I don't know when and I saw her live in concert on Saturday the 31st. It was a real thrilling experience. She played a Paganini violin concerto in D I think ...
When she played The ciaconna for The Red Violin, the color of the dress matched her violin and the emotion and tension in the theatre was so intense that my forehead was frowning. I will never forget the image of her graceful feature and her body swaying while the foldings in her dress changed constantly. That's about all I can describe

a bit of dried blood on the violin would do it good, imho. but it's a great image nonetheless
