Here's an old sketch of The Thing I dug up recently. The proportions are massively exaggerated so it's more like a re-imagining and definitely not how I would draw him if I was doing an FF book. Having said that I do like top heavy characters and I wanted him to look like he could actually take the Hulk on for real

yeah some weeks ago while watching TV with the missus. I did it without reference which might be why I went so wrong with the proportions! hehe

It's fun to just push the boundaries of proportion a little bit further than normal. I think the Thing looks great!

your stuff keeps getting better and better dude. Whilst i enjoyed your style when Mad was your main influence, the way you've developed is simply astounding. Now all I need from you is a regular series to devour so what's next on the workload?
Enjoyed your warcraft stuff but a book with Kirkman or Bendis or Ellis would be good for me.

thanks Neil, it's nice to have someone who knows my work from way back notice improvement. Mad is a major influence and I've pretty much ignored people who say don't learn from him or guys like him. Even though they may be right I always felt like I had to draw how I wanted not the way that would fit into the industry. I am now reaching a point where I feel comfortable enough to try new things - mainly so I don't get bored of my art!

Whatever it is you're doing works well for me. So keep developing and I'll keep buying your books, even if its more warcraft.
Please don't take that as a slight on you its just a concept that i don't enjoy, except for the issues you drew, as a comic. The game is pretty cool in parts though.
