Here's an old sketch of The Thing I dug up recently. The proportions are massively exaggerated so it's more like a re-imagining and definitely not how I would draw him if I was doing an FF book. Having said that I do like top heavy characters and I wanted him to look like he could actually take the Hulk on for real

Reminds me a lot of when Ben Grimm got his "secondary mutation) and became a big, spiky rock thing. This looks like it would work better for a reinterpretation (Like if you were tasked to do ANOTHER Ultimate Universe), or some kind of "monstrous clone" of Ben Grimm. It doesn't seem to work as well with 616 Grimm is what I'm saying.
Still, you got the Thing's textures down perfectly! He definitely looks as intimidating as he was intended!

I did not think the proportions were entirely off. To me it felt like he was lunging forward in this one making his upper body appear bigger then his lower half.
