-Bio: Isabel & Dulcie are two beautiful Auto Coaches from the Great Western Railway that work with Oliver on the Little Western when he's on passenger duties. They're both very clever coaches who always keep a good lookout, hence their name "Auto Coaches", as these are special coaches for "Push-Pull" services, meaning they have a cab at one end and special connecters where the driver can operate the controls from the rear, so whichever engine pulling them can reverse with their train without having to run to the back of the coach just fine. These two are very polite and well-mannered coaches that are provide moral support to Oliver and would help counsel him if needed. Isabel, the older of the two, and the one who used to work with Oliver on an old branchline in Swindon, is the more clever of the two, the more encouraging and tough, always keeping a good look out on the line, as well as helping to keep Oliver's emotions in check. Dulcie is a the younger of the two, but more introverted and shy, and is usually quiet on the journeys, but provides great passenger services and can be just as insightful as Isabel when keeping a good lookout. And now that the duo have been reunited with the more mature and stable Oliver, they now have plenty of adventures together to when keeping busy, and like Toad, always help to keep Oliver right on track.
-Artist's Commentary: Hi guys! I thought after doing the Slip Coaches, I'd do the Auto Coaches, Isabel & Dulcie from the RWS. Like the Slip Coaches, I hope to possibly introduce these two in DOTD, but we'll just have to see. To be honest, I wish I did add these two, as the only reason I never did at first was because of the whole engine and coach sexism trope that the franchise was known for, like seriously, why have a predominant male cast, and yet the coaches are female? If that's the case, could that be why the Auto Coaches never made it into the show or something. Your guess is as good as mine. The other is because growing up on the TV series, I was more used to Duck & Oliver pulling some of the regular NWR coaches like the Red Boggie Coaches or Branchline ones. But thanks to Crovan as well, I decided I will have them in my series, and whilst I only loosely adapted Oliver's origins, I know it's not to late, especially since ET is just an adaptation. Now many of you remember in AETUA Part 2 when Edward tries to confront Oliver about his behavior, that Oliver did work with Isabel & Toad on his old branchline in Swindon, but Oliver lost her when he started to feel guilty about his original anti-social behavior towards many of the spare engines that were sent to help him but were gonna be scrapped, that he got distracted and crashed Isabel through a set of buffers, haunting Oliver for the rest of his life. She was taken away after Oliver's old branchline was shut down, and whilst she encouraged Oliver to keep going, the young Auto Tank never got to hear about her. So, where exactly did she go? And how did she end up with Dulcie in this AU? Well, I hope maybe in DOTD to right they do meet up with them on some heritage railway along with Duck's old Slip Coaches, but until then, I'm glad to have them, as I feel bad for not adding them, not only because of how important this was to the RWS, but in general, the GWR 1400's were famous for pulling these coaches, hence the name "Auto Train", and that Push Pull function is just awesome. So we have two Great western Tank Engines with different types of coaches with great functions not even regular coaches could have. The possibilities are endless
