I totally feel like this sometimes. What's left to be discovered that will really make me feel like I have accomplished something!?
All the great stuff has already been done, all thats left is a bunch of text books that we have to read, dulling our minds of any original thought, we are seldom allowed to truly see and understand with our own eyes. I just don't bother anymore, a failure I may be, but I just gonna focus on enjoying what's left of my miserable life.

i hope you've cought on at some point within the last 2 years, but in case you haven't. the guy on his Left is his younger self naive, full of hope and potential, looking forward to a bright future. the guy on the right is his present self whose lost all hope, lost in the maze we call despair.
everyone experiences this phase at some point. we have no idea how we got there and we have no idea how to get out. it's a horrific time in ones life. if you haven't been there, you will. if you have, then you already know how to fix it.

I know the feeling all too well...you stuff all this junk into your head and it swells you up to the point you can't move forward or enjoy yourself anymore. You can't even do what you were trying to learn to do in the first place...unlike when you are ignorant in which case you are light and free and able to be happy without the burden of worrying about whether something is right or not...I miss that feeling.
But at the same time, being light and free causes you to be aimless and you risk hurting yourself. Like Icarus who flew too close to the sun; when you aren't weighed down by knowledge, you could end up floating too high and getting hurt by the world around you. Or you could end up hurting those around you...which is probably even worst.
So knowledge and wisdom is definitely bothersome...but I suppose in someway it is the lesser of two evils, lol.
Very beautiful and poignant and also well done...definitely speaks to me. Your choice of imagery is what really gives this picture its depth because its very simple for me to understand but it isn't spoonfed to me either. Its also something that is relevant to all of us because we all gain knowledge as we grow, whether we want to or not, and it will always interfere with our ability to be ignorant and free.
