this was a quick colour pencil drawing i did yesterday. its meant 2 show Illyria at her weakest. took around an hour or twoRelated content

Your use of light is amazing, and good choice in subject matter too. Amy Acker always plays such great characters! And she gets cool makeup, demon goddesses and scarred actives...it keeps an artist busy!

very well done, at first glance i thought it was just fixed in photoshop or psp ( paint shop pro) but it wasn't excllent, must say. hard work has paid off

awgh. god! It's just..... wow.
I have such respect for people who can manipulate normal, regular mediums in ways I can only imagine. gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. I've never really had my luck with pencil crayon stuff. or cross-hatching. (so you can imagine how much I envy you). I'm sort of like a ..... loose-line shading kinda gal. heh, and after that frigteningly expensive prismacolour set, you'd think I would take some initiative to learn pencil crayon techniques? oh no.
Anyways, what I'm trying to say.... is that I love Illyria (she's amazing) and,.... I can't cross hatch to save my life.
Nice work with the energy part too, it's always difficult to do light in pictures. Resist the urge to colour, LEAVE IT LIGHT. Okay, I sound like a crazy person. I apologize. I'm really not. OKay.... sorry again.

I felt so bad for Illyria in that episode; to have all of your godly powers stripped away because your mortal host cannot contain your greatness... awful. *sigh*
Anyway, beautiful work here. I love how you hatch and crosshatch the color pencils; how exactly do you color skin and shade it so well? What colors do you use?

Thankyou. It was a mixture of, red, pink, yellow, orange, brown, and an actual flesh colour. Took a long time to get it right LOL

the more i look at this, and then back at the same picture i have of her, exactly like this, then i place that same pic under my artist color pencil pad on my computer prgrams, it looks exactly, nothing different at all as to this.. ill post it if ya want, but... are you actually drawing these? I seems as if you are just putting them under a setting, or tint, i.e. color pencil, or pencil, and saying you drew them... its very odd...
Also, im in a class with all governer scholars, in Art5cc, and it takes them months to weeks, to do a color pencil, or even pencil sketching.. like this.. a little strange my dear..

LOLOLOL! oh my god this is so great! u think i faked it? wow. actually no i didnt, its hundred percent real believe me. im flattered that someone has looked at it and is suspicious. The actual drawing is quite small mind you, perhaps a little bigger than A5 size, so that might explain why it didnt take me that long. if u look close enough there are mistakes. her jaw is slightly more narrow than it is on the actual photo, and her mouth is too small. please send me that altered photo though! id love 2 see it. thanks for your comment!

thanks. yes it was bloody hard, too hard! you have no idea how long it took to get it right. spent a couple of hours just drawing the outline!
