Yep, it's the phazon suit from metroid prime, probably the most powerful suit in the metroid franchise, obtained after defeating the omega pirate, it's humongous body falls on top of samus, covering her power suit with phazon, and corrupting it. boosting her defense to 75% and making her immune to the effects of blue phazon( but not red phazon).

I want them to make another game where Red Phazon is present. After the first Prime it was never seen again... that stuff was wicked!
