Description
A thirteen-year-old poet,Whispers frolicking among her tongue
As a ballet dancer across a stage.
What to write, oh, what to write…
Her fingers wrapped around a pencil,
Gently tickling the page
With a language between herself
And her imagination.
Thoughts race through her mind,
One,
Two,
Three,
Quick!
Three,
Two,
One,
Gone.
Frozen hands on a silver clock
Turning moments into
D r e a d f u l h o u r s .
What to write, oh, what to write…
Crickets stop their chirping,
Birds start to sing.
Five thirty in the morning,
And not a single word on paper.
What to write, oh, what to write…
She begins to scribble across the page,
Doodles and anything that crosses her mind.
Words begin flooding her thoughts,
As she wrinkles the paper and grabs a clean sheet.
“A thirteen year old poet,
Whispers frolicking among her tongue
As a ballet dancer across a stage…"
And just as she nears the end
Of these words,
These messy,
Crazy,
Demented words...
Thoughts race through her mind.
One,
Two,
Three,
Quick!
Three,
Two,
One…
Gone.

Hate? No way! I love this! This describes me almost perfectly when I have writer's block (aside from the fact that I'm 18 and not 13 and I haven't obtained enough energy to get up that early or stay up that late). Actually, right now I feel inspired.

I like it. If I wrote this I wouldn't be expecting hate comments. Do you do ballet? Because that would make the ballet reference make more sense. (Im a ballet dancer.)

I can relate with this a lot. I've written something like this before, except when I was really, really frustrated with myself, but it wasn't at night. I am not as persistent with finding ideas though. I usually give up and try again the next day. Great work! This deserves more comments and views.

I don't think this is a fail at all. I hate writer's block... But as long as you continue to push through like you did with this piece you will continue to make amazing work

You are thirteen and you write such stuff? Look... this positively means a genius. I've read few of your works, and there are rithym, good rhymes and real, deep and well-expressed emotions in them. This actual one is not a failure, either. I liked it pretty much. I am something of a writer myself, too (though I don't upload anything here, since everything I write is in Hungarian, and that way I guess that yould be no use). One thing is that I would like to place a rose at your feet as a sign of my respect to you. And if you let me give you some advice... if words don't come and it's late at night, it is best to sleep, or if you can't sleep, to read or to watch a film. You seem to write a real lot of good poems, so I don't see why you should torture yourself when they don't appear one single time.

This poem is awesome and it hits me really close to home, even more so than your other poems! I especially love your usage of the "One, two, three, quick! Three, two, one, gone" tempo, it really has the feel of a thought appearing and disappearing inside the mind. So no... you did not fail!
