Almost anything. To get from Eve's surface to orbit, you'll basically need a giant rocket with many stages (the delta-v requirements being about twice or almost three times as much as Kerbin -> Low Kerbin Orbit).

And before that, you have to get that giant rocket all the way to Eve's surface.

Dawn-1 was inspired by the Venera lander probes, and the name is based off a translation of the Japanese Venus probe, Akatsuki.


And yes, there was a parachute, right in between the two antennae.
