Description
"Sweet and calm, she looked at me; the sound of tension rose in the air. All the world was anticipating the sweet sounds. I yearned for her song, and knew she would not leave me waiting long."The first in my "Spirits of Music" series, complete with proportional mistakes.
Done in mechanical pencil on 9"x12" sketchbook paper. Inspired by Mucha.

The knotwork on the side panels are truly impressive and I love how they spout into the beautiful arched flora. Beautiful work!

Thanks so much! The borders were a challenge, but I think well worth the work.

I kept telling my hubby that his girlfriend is insane as I was doing the borders... and then every once in a while it was "Why do I do this to myself?"
Ah, self-inflicted torture can produce such satisfying results, though.
I don't have the patience for detail you do, though. Not even close.

yeah, the result looks damn good! well one thing with the details is in digital art you can zoom horribly. and add more and more details, that is impossible with traditional media.

This is true, but it still takes way too much patience. I don't have a whole lot of that, really.

I think for me it's a difference if media.... Although after reading your journal today, I may try computer painting again. I've only ever had access to the boring old Photoshop stock brushes.

Thank you!
Yes, I've been a fan of his works (and many other Art Nouveau pieces) for a goodly number of years now, but this is the first time I've put my love of the style into my own works. I'm very glad you like it!

Thank you so much!
The next one is on its way, though it's coming along slowly due to school and homework complications that take up all my time. Still, she's about 1/3 of the way finished, and shouldn't take too much longer, I should hope.
