This was really helpful, I used this tutorial to help me make a character using water bending. Here's the drawingΒ azephybrid.deviantart.com/art/β¦

Did you use paint tool SAI? I think I recognize that logo, but ... I'm not too sure.

I was looking for a tutorial for drawing water in a single layer, since that's all I have. I think I can modify your tutorial byβinstead of lowering the opacity of a layerβapplying a coat of (off-)white semi-transparent digital paint to get the same effect.
So thanks for the inspiration!

This could also be lightning if you made it more jaggedy and yellow.

Hey congratz on the tutorial! It's very straight forward, simple and looks great. I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't fit my image but it actually did a wonderful job. Once it's done I'll send you a link, if you want me to ^^

I did modify it since I have photoshop and not sai, but the tutorial really helped me to draw decent and alive water.

It's a very nice tutorial, but the water, to me, doesn't look like water. I think your highlights are far too strong and far too many without transparency.
Anyway, keep up your hard work and feel better!
