lol, I'm still part way in the fandom, but I've been losing interest in the series lately and haven't felt motivated enough to finish up my projects yet.

Convert your projects to original stories; it makes them a lot more fun. I found out that I don't have to change anything about any of my Spyro stories save the names and some character designs/species.

That could work, but the only problem with that idea is that a couple of my stories kind of rely on what's given in the games that if I tried to change them into original stories that it'll feel all jumbled up and clumsily written and I really don't want to take the risk and do that.

Although I am fine with rewriting a couple of themk into originals, I'm just throwing out a safety net and keeping them as fan works until I've made a final decision.

I actually thought the same thing of stories like "No Dragons in Avalar" and "Hand of Darkness", both of which relied hugely on things set forth in the games. But it turns out that it wasn't difficult to just adjust and rename some things to fix the problems. I even still have portals in NDiA, they're just called gates and are constructed of different materials.

That seems like a good idea. In my case, it was either change the story or abandon it completely, and I am quite fond of a couple of my fan stories.
