Yeah...im tired, my tablet stopped working properly so you all get to see my horrible horrible drawings...
But anyway; this tutorial was done in gimp and so was the avi, but im sure the technique works on photoshop if you know about layers.
This was mainly for , hope it helps you out
and anyone else.
any questions just note me.

I used this to make the icon I have now; I wanted to test out if it would work for a wink. I kinda messed around with the timing, but it looks good to me.
How did I do?

i think the timing could actually be sped up a bit :c it looks a bit jagged right now.
what you can do to make it so its not a constant wink is to duplicate the first frame a couple of times, which will delay the wink a bit.
so you may have: first frame, first frame, first frame, first frame, second frame, third frame.

its good! i think it can be sped up quite a bit more to make the blinking smoother but if youre happy with the way it is now, it looks fine

Oh I would love to try this out!! . . . Life is a bitch right now so it probably wont be for a while but I'm defferently going to try . . I've alwaysed loved those blinky avitars but never quite how to do it properly.

oh, yeah this one is pretty old too come to think of it but.. the method doesnt change i guess. do you use gimp? (it works in any program with layers that can handle gif files really anyways)

yeah I use GIMP, that's why your tutorials are so easy most things are made for photoshop so it's pretty hard to use them since they use other methods or more advanced things

yeah thats very true. i can usually incorporate most ps tutorials into gimp because i know it well but there just isnt enough.
i have ps but i refuse to use it for one tutorial or something. besides i find gimp better anyway, no joke. maybe im too old fashioned XD

yup, well GIMP is actually better it's easier to use and you can draw things just as good as PS if you know some tricks
and I wouldn't use PS even if I had it since I love to use GIMP

yeah i find the tools in photoshop are harder to access and set properly and stuff. gimp is really very accessible.
and actually, i have to say gimp has a better linearting system then ps anyway. ps is all transparent and weird and hard to find solid brushes etc.. i want everything to be solid unless i say otherwise =_=
you can pretty much move and throw stuff around easily in gimp than ps anyway. i need a clean workspace so gimp wins XD
