This is gorgeous! I love the use of the magnifying glasses, and the characters themselves are both so lovely and detailed!

Wow!! This is soooo beautiful!! I wasn't sure if anyone would find a use for those photos; I uploaded them feeling rather doubtful. I'm very happy you got to use them. This is sooo gorgeous - Lovely work! I wish I could have even half your talent!

Sooo pretty, you did a fantastic job with the costume designs; and those transparent wings are just jaw-dropping. Did you just like paint the stuff beneath them and then add a little white on top of it?
The magnifying glass idea is neat, too; gives them a cool sense of unity, and oddness.
Great work!

Thanks I used some white Gouache over the finished pencil since it is more opaque than watercolor and gave the effect I was hoping for

mm I just love the color and translucent wings. I've always had a thing for belly dancer gear too. It's just so gorgeous! Gotta love the added detail you can achieve with larger format work.

Thank you I probably won't do many this large though, it takes way too much pencil and is hard on my hands. I'll have to use the watercolors more the next time.

hmm ever try Art Stix? They tend to work more easily than the little pencils for larger things like this. There's less of a variety of colors available, but I think most of the ones for skin tones are.

Beautiful, as expected. I always love the Middle Eastern belly dancing costumes, but it's so appropriate at this time because I plan to attend a Belly Dancing festival this weekend in SLC. Woo-hoo!

Hey! If it's the SpringFest I am performing around noon with the Desert Gypsy Dance company I am in the troop called Gypsy Melody. We will be wearing fancy mirror skirts (so you will know which group I am in). If you'd like, we can meet up sometime while we are there. I plan to spend the whole day and it would be fun to visit with DA friends

It'd be so great to meet you! I love your artwork, and I've shown it to my mom who really likes the mother and baby mermaids, and several of your fairies. I'll note you.

Thanks I had fun with it. Jess gave me some tips on using gouache paint to do the transparent part of the wing since I haven't used it much before. i am pleased with the results
