Very cool. It's been a long time since I've seen Kill Bill. Great throw down topic.

I watched it again recently. Really good. I've been watching a lot of old Kung fu movies and I saw one, Avengers of Shoalin or something like that and Pei Mei was the bad guy in it. Same friggin Pei Mei as Gordon Lui plays in Kill Bill 2. I thought that was pretty awesome. Nice job Quinten Tarrentino I said.

I watched a lot of Gordon Lui movies and have been a lifelong 1970's kung fu/ martial arts movies fan. They can be highly enjoyable. LOL, I have a small library of VHS kung fu movies from when they aired on local stations in the 1980's. I remember reading somewhere that Gordon Lui had a stroke a few years ago and isn't going well. At least he made it in Kill Bill.

He's my favorite actor from all those old movies. Dare I say I like him better than Bruce Lee??? The 36th Chamber of Shoalin is my favorite of his movies, but there are several others too. I didn't hear that about him. That's too bad. Been wanting to draw a picture of him as the monk San Te for a while. Maybe I will.

I certainly understand your comment about Bruce Lee. I like Bruce Lee movies and what he did but so many other actors in this genre stood out more for me as well. I love Bruceplotation movies and Bruce Li, Bruce Le, and Dragon Lee. Their movies were usually of a lower budget but many were a blast to watch.
Those Shaw Brother movies were some of the best, like the 36th Chamber of Shaolin and the Venoms movies. Chinese Super Ninjas aka Five Element Ninjas is also a must see if you dig Shaw Brothers movies.
An art piece of San Te would be very cool.

I just watched 5 Elements Ninja a couple of weeks ago. I did like that. It has a few of the Venom guys in it. The Toad who is also the Kid with the Golden Arm.
Shaolin Prince AKA Death Mask of the Ninja is another of my favorite Shaw Bros.
Gordon Lui was awesome in Heroes of the East too. At first when I was watching it I wasn't sure if I was going to like it because I so used to seeing him as a shoalin monk, but that movie turned out to be great!
Netflix has a ton of these movies right now.

The Kid with the Golden Arm was the first kung fu movie I ever remember seeing, like thrity-five years ago. Cool movie, it's been some time since I last saw that one. Have your ever seen or heard of Master of the Flying Guillotine? A worthy watch. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAkrjf⦠I've always been a fan of Jimmy Wang Yu movies. Many pre-date the Bruce Lee craze.
Yeah, sometimes Gordon Liu has a wig on in some movies so it may take some time to recognize him.
