Personally I don't really mind the slight disproportions in this piece, in fact I think it goes very well along with perspective and the general atmosphere that you've managed to create here
My advice to you though is to try and blend the dragon a little more into the background, as for now it seems a bit stamped on it
Aside that I think that you did a really good job with this piece, well done

Thank you. ^^ I did a remarkable job from what picture I used. It was a half finished render but my file became corrupted so I was unable to edit it in the program anymore so I just went and edited the picture I had, in this case, this one.

hmm..hmm..
about the anatomy of the character in the front, it seems that the length between the shoulder and elbow of her left hand is a bit too much my friend ^^

I'm such a crap in digital, so this is all I could say to help you. lol XD btw, you are very talented! I was amazed by the design! O.O

Thank you! And the length is right its just the perspective.

All you need to do is practice if you want to get better haha. I have only been doing this off and on for a year. I'm not that great but I am still learning.

The 3d models are well done, but I have to agree with gstarene (there isn't much focus on any one thing, so the viewers eyes wander all over.) Also, there is hardly any lighting difference between fore, middle, and back ground, making the focus even less prominent (you have distance, but not depth if that makes sense.) The dragon doesn't do much for me (it and the column don't match consistently with the characters, I can elaborate if you want). By the way, where is the light coming from? There seem to be several conflicting/nonexistent sources of light that if resolved would unite the overall picture. If you want more critique let me know, but those are the things I noticed first. You are talented at this, so keep it up

Hahaha when I made this I was focusing more on figures and posing them. This was just like.... brain vomit in a document. Thanks for the critique though, I appreciate it.

Ah, neat. I use blender, but I haven't done anything in it recently. I have this bad habit of starting to model stuff, then getting really sick; when I finally get back to it, I forget about half the stuff I learned. My other bad habit is trying out overwhelming top end programs before I have a clue what I'm doing. I did manage to make a vase that was like 20,000 polygons, my comp couldn't handle that much hi-rez geometry and crashed with half a days work (I never finished it )

I have Blender but I don't know how to do any of that stuff..... I really want to but I know that I would go in way over my head.... I just use DAZ where you place models and morph them and such but I've never built anything myself.

Yeah, blender is a pain, but its the best free modeling-animation program out there. Once I start feeling a bit better, I was planning on making a game with it. The tutorials take a lot of intuition to understand because the guys that make it change the interface and major properties of things every 0.0.2 versions, so a tutorial from 6 months ago doesn't even make sense.

Its not about smarts so much as persistence, if your working it every day the changes are natural. If/when I begin using blender again, I will definitely do some tutorials for AurumArt-Seed

Haha cool. I probably won't do Blender though. I think I will just stick with the program I have and be crafty with that.

gstarene [2011-01-20 16:50:14 +0000 UTC]

The 3D effect is very evident in the foreground elbow along with the dragons teeth.

Just one thing negative, (kind of) the two "guards" on each side make this too busy for me, in the fact the two are significant in the overall image rather than just being part of the background of the image.

Does that even make since to you?
