reminds me of my own wedding... or rather AFTER my wedding...
in mine own opinion (which probably means very little) the greatest images are not those that inspire imagination, important as those are, but rather those that remind us of the moments we treasure most - as well as those that stir other strong emotions.
beauty is in the eye of the beholder. in my eye, the most beautiful thing is my wife, and few are the sights that come close, so anything that incites a memory of her holds a special place beyond its own intrinsic beauty. granted, zinn is gorgeous woman on her own, and entirely unique. and still, the gown is different than the one hand-crafted by the wearer herself in my own memory, but the image holds so much more than just a beautiful woman in a lovely pose and pretty dress, captured by a talented and skillful photographer. (and I say "just" with a touch of irony...)

You must have had a very non-traditional wedding.

This image is not stock. Why would I approve of you just grabbing my work and photoshopping on it?

My sincerest apologies to you. I didn't mean to offend you or your work , yet, I am confused that you have favs posted of others that have used your beautiful work on their projects. I've looked for a stock gallery on your pages, but found no Info on what is ok to use and what is not ok. Again I am truley sorry. I will delete the piece if you like.

I saw this image on another web site that contained samples of beautiful nude women (often in artistic or elegant settings).
I wish that it was possible to buy this as a high quality print with Zinn and your autograph because it would be something that almost deserves to be hanging on a wall.
I wondered why Zinn had her hair in a ponytail until you explained it later. Interesting.

Marcus,
I've been wanting to buy this print for some time, but I have been tied up with all kinds of insane bills and hassles with my daily life. You would not believe the crap that I had to do in the past six months.
I've been in sort of a dilemma, in that I want to buy this print, but I'm wondering if it's too "erotic" for average people to view. I'm an extremely liberal person, but I don't know how others would view it. I would want to hang it if I got it, so I didn't want to buy the print and then hide it like what Andrew Wyeth did with all of his Helga paintings.
What's your take on it? I imagine that I'm overthinking it, but I wanted your opinion regardless.

I suppose that would be a concern if you were going to hang it up in someone else's space rather than your own. But, seriously, if someone walks into my house and is upset by anything I have hanging on the walls - then I'll make sure they know where the door is.
Wyeth's Helga paintings are (to me) unattractive, so if they were mine, I'd have hidden them, too. But if I'd been Helga, I'd have dumped him for spending so much time trying to make images of me and then deciding (implicitly) that I was too horrible to display. Seriously - what does that say about how much Wyeth valued her, his paintings, and his friends? I'd never value the opinions of complete strangers as higher than my own.
So, I guess you need to ask yourself why you'd want to have any art around you, and who you're trying to please. After all, if you don't want to offend anyone, why not try some Thomas Kinkade paintings?

Crap, I didn't realize the above post would go on the public message board and not the private e-mail thing. *sigh*
I can't even edit or delete the previous post.

I prefer people not to use my finished artworks for photomanips. It's OK to sketch or draw or whatever using this as a reference but for stock photography, please use my stock that I offer here: [link]

Lovely image and lighting , but I think the one fellow may be right about the hairstyle. Wonder how the same shot would look with a salon styling?

One place I always cheap out on my shoots is NOT having a make-up artist or stylist. I know it'd be a good thing.

I know, everything adds cost. I have an older friend who shoots models and he has be-friended a make-up artist who he calls on when needed. Time to make new friends
Actually, if this model just lost the pony tail and brushed her hair straight down it might have been better. tidier. who knows

Yes, of course. Would you prefer a full-rez color version to work from? If so, email mjr@ranum.com and I'll send it along.
I adore your work and would be thrilled to have one of my photos be part of it.

Accident, fortuitous discovery, or pre-planned, the results are the same: exquisite.
Beautiful execution of a very clever concept.
