Description The pilot of this [link]

Thought I may as well submit him, since I spent the time to make him lol. I'll probably revisit him from different angles soon.

Also, he's probably not a pilot, now that I think of it, he's a bit to armored lol. WHATEVA

Yeah his suit alone could be a form of mecha exo-suit thing. I kinda prefer exo-suits over mecha in general, it's more plausible and closer to something that'd be in real life. Sorta like the hardsuits worn by the Knight Sabers from the anime series Bubblegum Crisis, or the "nano-suits" from Crysis, or even the Cyborg Ninja from MGS (though I dunno how much of that is built into his body, and how much of it is just his suit...especially when you consider what happened to Raiden in the events prior to Guns of the Patriots.)

In this one tabletop game scenario me and my friend are coming up with, humankind is caught up in a war between two races of angel-like aliens (the Sakurim and the Jihanim,) both of which are capable of flight, so the humans build flight-capable exo-suits to fight back for their own survival against the two other races/factions.

I agree, I doubt we will see many pilotable mecha in the future. In reality I'm sure there will be many remote controlled or AI controlled mecha.

And that seems interesting. I definitely foresee, especially for areal combat, the widespread us of AI, its a shame that realistic combat AI dont necessarily make good stories or character relationships haha.

I for one hope drones never replace manned combat aircraft. They probably will in the somewhat distant future, but I sure wouldn't like it if they did. For one thing sending unmanned drones into other countries to terrorize people, sometimes civilians, is just plain cowardly and wrong, and should be made illegal by human rights laws. For another thing, combat aircraft have been a tradition for the worlds' air forces for almost a century now, and cutting off research and development for that area in favor of a newer, less-cool one is just retarded. But maybe I'm old-fashioned.

Finally, who'd wanna play a video game about a drone? I'll take Starfox 64 or Star Wars Rogue Squadron over playing as an UAV any day.

I totally agree. However the tech is already here lol. The only thing keeping things the way they are are the military industrial complex, and uhm, military tradition.

But then again, I don't give two shits about real war. For me I just like the video games!

Why do mecha pilots have to dress up to look like mechas? Shouldn't they be like comfortable and stuff so maybe a pajama would be nice.

Nice artwork.

that is WAY too wide for armor. the armor for someone's femur should not look like a dented sphere when it's done.

the concept is very cool and reminds me a bit of appleseed.
but somehow the helmed seams to be more detailed than the rest. would be nice if the the overall look would be not to rough
