freehand+Flash+Photoshop drawing of the Monster Heavy Weight Robot from SDF Macross/Robotech.The story behind this image: I drew the original as a freehand copy of an image I found on the net while I was bored durring my Senior midterms in high school. Last night at about 1 AM, I decided to remaster it in flash to make the lines straight and give it a more anime-ish rather than realistic detail look. This took about 4 hours total because the artillery guns on top wouldn't line up right. I then photoshoped the color in, deciding to go with cell-shading rather than my usual airbrushish look.

And yeah, you find Macross fans in the oddest places. I just wished I could find a model of the Monster...have one of pretty much all the rest of the UN SPACY mechs, but the Monster proves elusive or insanely expensive.

Aw man, that's tough. It's one of those things where you find whatever it is your NOT looking for. Like the bread allways falls butter side down.
I don't see why it'd be so expensive though, the model I have isn't that well made... I guess it's just a lesson of good old supply and demand.

Sure, and Robotech is a cheap rip off of Macross. What goes around comes around. Robotech is just the translation/re-scripting of three entirely seperate japanese anime, Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada.

Yes the overall picture is great and I have to agree the cell shading is very cool kinda allows the viewer to identify more with the mech great job
