Description [EDIT:] I MADE IT ONTO EQD?! FOR REAL? FOR REAL.
Holy crap. I'm dying.

I've finally broken the threshold into sculpted customs! And boy, was it a learning experience.

This is [obviously] Littlepip of the fanfiction Fallout:Equestria by Kkat. One of my best friends is a huge fan of hers, and since pony customization is "my thing" and I had an extra Twilight base in my desk, I decided she would make the perfect Christmas gift for him. I haven't read it myself yet (though I plan on it) so I had to rely on a lot of different pieces of fan art and some other people's interpretation of how she would look in blind bag form. Ultimately I think she turned out pretty nice; the pictures don't do her justice.

I sculpted the majority of her mane, parts of her tail, her pipbuck, and her jacket with Crayola air-dry clay and, once dry, sanded it with some fine grit sandpaper. Prep work in itself took like 4 hours before I finished everything, since I did it in bits and pieces. Then she was painted with plain old Liquitex acrylics and sealed with matte Modge Podge.

Overall I'd say she was easily ~10 hours... counting fixing her up after I dropped her in the paint mid-way. >___>;;;

But yeah! I feel like my first sculpted piece was a big success, and I'm super proud of her.

its tough, little pip was never really described that much (except in certain perspectives)

I like when writers do that with their characters (leaving them up to the imagination of the readers). Grendel in Beowulf was treated in the same way. It's so interesting to see how readers and fans interpret the physical appearance of those characters.
Since this design seems to be the most common fan interpretation of Littlepip, I used a bunch of different fan art as my reference for her. haha

i get you, (being a MASSIVE book fan) I've already read the fan fiction twice and i think (not absolutely sure) but i think other than Steelhooves is calamity is described. steel hooves is described because of the steel ranger armour and Calamity because he's the first pegasus Littlepip see's as for others like Ditzy Doo or Velvet Remedy (Velvet is kinda described like the colour scheme)

Yeah, it's kinda obvious you didn't read it cuz her PipBuck is on the wrong foreleg. It's pointed out on several occasions in the fic.

Yeah, I noticed that AFTER I sculpted it. >_< The recipient still loved her despite the inaccuracy, though!
But honestly, I feel like aesthetically, it looks better this way. If it were on her other foreleg you wouldn't be able to see it from the display side.
