Thank you! It was pretty stunning to have this lady move this close to me. They are often confused with coyotes, but they are much smaller (between 6-20 lbs).

I'm from the Midwest, and we've got our share of both coyotes and red fox (foxes?) (Foxies?)  I just have never seen a gray.  Awesome!  It made me want to woohoo!   I'm a woohoo-er!

I have had various encounters with these beautiful animals, but usually just a flash as they run across my path and into the brush or I manage a few shaky shots before they bound off. They are just the prettiest things with their smokey gray, rust, and cream colored fur.
