Description
"Security is an illusion. Life is either a daring adventure or it is nothing at all."We often lose opportunities because we've opted to take the safe and secure path. When we build walls around ourselves, not only do we protect ourselves from the world outside, we trap ourselves inside.
I prefer the unsecure path. Sure it's scarier and I stand a greater chance of getting hurt, but it's the only way I can live.

This is an awesome capture, although I'm almost more captivated by the words that you used in your description. It is very true, and more kids follow by those words, they want to experience everything, and enything, and although it may be dangerous, it's there one shot you know? Awesome job!

"Security is an illusion. Life is either a daring adventure or it is nothing at all."
Security is often a self-trap. That is; we often build walls to keep safe and others out, but instead we often trap ourselves and miss opportunities. It's scarier to face life head on without security, but then life is lived that way.
This image really allows you to sit on the fence and look at the security situation. It makes me think of my own life and what I have done right, what I can call secure mistakes and what I can call being polite enough to miss an opportunity.
All being said and done though, I don't know if I would want to get on that roof anyway, so I'm not sure what practical application that wire has.
[Note: Freaky I know, but I swear I wrote this comment word for word the same way having found commenting any other way impossible, critique impossible after 15 minutes of looking at this image. I couldn't pin down what else I wanted to say, I couldn't look at a part of the image but the image as a whole, as a metaphor. Then I read your description and I nearly fell of my chair. That's weird.]

I agree with your unsecure path statement. I find that personally thats how I live, you only live once and your going to make mistakes.

Aiiieee, my eyes. That is a wild perspective, woman. It's really neat; it almost makes the wire look unreal, until you get to that one coil that is hyper-focused.
Razor wire freaks me out - I was quite disturbed by how much of it there was in random places throughout New York City. But, since I get bothered by pigeon proofing, I guess it's not surprising.
Where'd you shoot that?

Bah, didn't see your reply above. Costa Rica.
I figured it had to be elsewhere, since I think the stuff is illegal in Canada.

I really like the clarity of the focus on the razor wire. The colour contrast is excellent too. Where was this taken? Is that some sort of walkway in the background or is it powerlines?

It was taken in Costa Rica and yes there are powerlines in the background the red is the roof of a home.
