Description Taken the same morning as Enigma .

I wish it were higher resolution, but the photo was a bit on the blurry side, so this is the biggest I can get away with.

I love how the mist helps give depth to the trees as well as making them look strangely ethereal.

Looks very middle - earthy and elvish to me. But then fog always reminds me of these two things! Also, bonus points for the Radiohead title!

Ah, that's interesting

Well, if I get bonus points for using the Radiohead title on this one, I must have many, many points by now! I'm almost running out of titles

Radiohead song titles and lyrics are great for titles - just the right amount of abstract.

I couldn't agree more. Titles I think of myself are always pathetic and trite in comparison. (By the way, don't know if you noticed, but I even got my username from them )

I'll give you a hint...

I jumped in the river and what did I see?

Mmm, I don't listen to that album very much either and it's never been one of my favourites (which isn't to say it isn't good, it's just that they have some other more brilliant stuff!), but I do love that song.

Very beautiful. I love how the trees get foggier as the distance increases. It's always nice to see that.

Thank you very much Yes, I really like the layering effect here too. It's something I always hope to capture in fog photos, to get a more tangible sense of its thickness.

O_O This is great! The only thing I would have rathered, was if the first tree in the foreground was a bit more defined. But that doesn't matter. It looks awesome.

Well done.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moonfullofstars In reply to laddo22 [2006-03-26 08:54:35 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! Yep, that tree is a bit blurry, for sure. I took about three photos of the same area, and they're all a bit blurry, so I think that maybe the light levels were a tad low for tripodless photography. Oh well. I can make that tree darker by adjusting the levels, but I don't know that that would look any better. I've already sharpened it, but it was too blurry to fix it completely. Anyway, glad you liked it all the same

laddo22 In reply to moonfullofstars [2006-03-26 11:53:00 +0000 UTC]

Yeah thats fair enough. Heh, yeah tripodless photography is annoying at times eh?

Either way, I like it!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moonfullofstars In reply to laddo22 [2006-03-26 12:57:38 +0000 UTC]

Yep, but that tends to be the way it happens so much of the time. Unlike my camera, I don't take my tripod everywhere I go, and most of the photos I take are quite spontaneous and unplanned. Besides which, my tripod's only about 30cm high, so wouldn't be of much use for a shot like this anyway. In retrospect, perhaps I could have tried increasing the ISO, but it didn't occur to me at the time. I might have been too in awe of my surroundings to notice that the shots could have been sharper. I was in a cloud, after all!
