It would seem Ariel found some “normal” clothes. I am gonna bet she borrowed them from a sister or more. She’s cute whatever she wears but I still see why Eric is disappointed.
I am sure she is shy around him for real, but I also believe she isn’t a shy person in general...being quiet must still be difficult.
Poor Eric, feeling her awkward efforts and not knowing what to make of them and so becoming nervous himself... poor guy. So oblivious.

Amen. I've always been and still am so invisible I haven't had a friend since I drifted apart from my sole friend from the school district I went to before the one I graduated from. To the point that I always found it creepy when people from my school who I'd never seen or had a class with knew who I was.

it was a short montage were we only say cute things. there was no actual effort to communicate until they got to the boat. Not that we got to see. I am very sure it was frustrating at the fair as well

Well She wasn't interested in anything fish related in her movie. It was mundane. Are you very interested in walls? walking? grass? Well some of that can legit be very interesting but never mind...You get my point.
Her interest were humans, she lived in water. Here she lives with humans and her interest is outer space.

But if you really need something. Maybe she exercises by swimming to keep fit? Not enjoying or interested in it so much, but being healthy is always good? And she finds it easy?
