And wouldn't you know it, I didn't even need to make the bread reference!
I finally wound up seeing the movie on Netflix a few months ago...and loved every minute of it! More recently, I read all of the comics...and kinda liked it better than the movie in most respects.
Though of course both were missing something rather crucial that would've made them utterly perfect in my opinion. So I pretty much remedied that with this short and stupid, but nevertheless adorable little strip.
It was a pretty fun challenge to attempt to replicate the comic's distinct style and humor as best as I could, so I do hope you enjoy the end result as much as I do!
