Description
Photo taken in March, 2014 @ Koninklijke Burgers' Zoo, The NetherlandsA close-up of one of the Cheetah cubs - a chance I'd been waiting for for quite some time
Species: Cheetah (Jachtluipaard)
Latin name: Acinonyx Jubatus
Originates from Africa and the Middle East.
Current status: Vulnerable
Did you know:
…The Cheetah can clock in to 112 to 120 km/h (70 to 75 mph), making it the fasted land animal on the planet, covering 500 meters (1,600 ft) in short burst, and being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in three seconds.
…It is one of the few Felids with semi-retractable claws.
