I'm the girl who can't write happy.
The girl who likes to sit in the dark and the silence. Who feels she fits better there because she can't see herself.
But the truth is that happy is not so many words.
Happy is sunlit meadows and white dresses. Happy is a cute face peeking out of the mouse house. Happy is five consonants and one lonely vowel.
Or maybe the vowel isn't lonely. Maybe the 'a' is the one who is slightly different, who thinks she doesn't fit but in reality probably fits as well as anyone else is. Maybe 'a' likes black dresses, not white ones, but sees the consonants as pretty for what they wear and she doesn't.
Happy is a hard thing to write, because it is images. And a picture tells a thousand words but I can't make my hand do what my head can see. I can only make my hand draw the 'a' in Happy, but 'a' is in Sad too.
But that is okay, because without Sad, we couldn't know Happy, just like without the Dark, we couldn't know Day.
So sometimes it is good to sit in the Dark, and sometimes it is good just to store the Happy in your head to share with those who need it, and put the Sad on the paper so you are not holding it anymore.
I am the 'a' in Sad, but there 'a' is in Happy too.
