Description
A quick tutorial on how I do my lines~I feel like it'll be quicker if I just line on another layer but I like to do the lining on the sketch layer xD
1 // Sketch
2-3 // Start lining on the same layer as the sketch
4 // Erase part of line/sketch as I go.
5 // Finished
It there any kind of tutorial you would like to see from me?

Neat! Although, I think you should start working at a larger resolution. The lines looked really pixely when you zoomed in. Maybe sketch like normal, but then make a new file with the sketch you want to line and make that file larger (like 2000 x 2000 with 300 dpi). Just a note. Anyways I really like this method of lining! Great tutorial!

Thank you <3
What do you mean pixely? I tend to zoom in 500% to line so it always looks pixely ;u;
My computer handle large files so I usually work at 800x800 at 72 dpi for drawings I won't print, lol
I'm slowly increasing the canvas size I work at over the months > u <

I mean exactly what you described. You work on a relatively small file size, so when you zoom in to the level that you need to draw at, the image is blown up to larger then it's actual size and so, the image appears 'pixely' and doesn't have smooth lines. Working on a 72 dpi for images you won't print is perfectly fine, 72 (or 150) dpi is a standard web resolution, but the image size itself is to small. A good rule of thumb is to work at twice the size you plan to show the image at (so like if the image will displayed at 800 x 800 then work at 1600 x 1600).
Here's a visual example: fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/201…
The top left image has a file size of 800 x 800, the size that I plan on displaying it. However when I zoom in to draw (top right image), it's pixely and difficult to work with (compared to the larger image). The bottom left image has a file size of 2000 x 2000, a little more then twice the size I plan to display it at. When I zoom in to draw the details, the lines are still smooth, and much easier to work with and visualize how they'll look like as a whole. Making the image larger gives much more crisp lines over all and lets you draw finer details and finer lines. It also lets you have a larger file size in case you ever want to print it in the future or in case you just need a larger size in the future.
I hope this helps, and I don't mean any disrespect to you or your art. I know how frustrating it can be to have a computer that can't deal with large file sizes >_< I really enjoy what you do. c:

For me, lining over a sketch layer is slower because I tend to nitpick a lot and spend forever on it. It's much easier for me to line and erase on the same layer (like you do) because the line quality of my sketches are almost always being good enough to just do some minor tweaks to it. (: (My sketches aren't very messy, so I guess that's why.) Your process is much quicker for me!
