The sound of a bicycle horn was repeating, soft and distant enough to have simply been imagined. Then, with a sudden, loud HONK, Angela was sporting a shiny, red clown nose! The noise made her jump, then laugh. She brought her hand to her nose to examine her new piece of apparel, giving it a light squeeze. It honked, naturally bringing her glee. Every little sound made her happier and clownier.

Honk! Her dress shifted from stripes to polka-dots.

Toot! Her high-heeled boots became long and flat.

Squeak! Her hair became big and orange.

Angela couldn't remember when she'd laughed this much. It'd been a bad run up until now. Getting a cold right before Halloween, seeing her town nearly get overrun by monsters, having to change schools... none of that seemed so bad right now. She crossed her eyes and zeroed in on the big red target between them. Reaching slowly with both hands as if she had to sneak up on it, she decided to give her nose one more big honk. When she did...

(1.) ...her hair burst into a multicolored afro!

(2.) ...her clothes puffed out into ridiculous proportions!

(3.) ...her face felt "funny."
