MCM May 2015 costume, a Flood Combat Form, readying the Plasma Rifle.Made mostly of sealant foam and spray paint, with random armour and bits and pieces.

I thought of doing a Flood cosplay myself but I don't have the experience and time to do it (at the moment). Would be also nice to have a bunch of people starting a FloodΒ invasion on a convention

The tricky parts were finding the right colours of spray paint, and making it fit my body.

I believe it was difficult to find the right size and everything. Maybe I would start with building a life size copy of myself, so you have something to build everything on.

Definitely something i thought of doing, but i didn't want to spend thatmoney so i just made a balloon version of my torso and covered it in paper to give a flat back, then applied the foam. :3

Great idea and relatively simple! I've seen somebody who made a copy of is upper half just with an old shirt and duct tape (and used it for tailoring clothes)

Unfortunately not. I don't know when I'll have time for a convention during the next months because I'm starting a new job/ studying. So I won't have that much time for my hobbies like before

I think I will test the duct-tape method if I have time and enough room for a new project. Would be also nice to have a statue of myself for tailoring clothes

Marine science? Awesome! I'm a geologist that graduated in Palaeontology
Unfortunately there are no jobs for palaeontologists anymore besides the oil industry... something I don't want to work for. I tried to get a PhD position in a museum or research institute but it's so hard to get in there. Everyone told me there was not enough money for PhDs and I realized I came to a dead end.

Yeah everything is so competitive and expensive, especially further education past university. Masters are only really attainable if you're rich or have a good backer.

Same problem here. We call it "Vitamin B" in german (B = "Beziehungen" = connections/ relationships), because if you don't know the right people and have the best connections, you won't geht anything even if you've graduated as one of the best. It's a shame...
