Description
Another revised set of pages for my comic. This is the point at which I begin to wonder whether I'm going to a place where I should just stop, give up on revisions, and continue with the story from where it already is. I do like these pages though.Related content

He does, and they can! And I retrofitted him to have quad-launchers in each when I realized his original missiles were the size of ICBM's, which was not what I had intended.

I understand that the Russian war again brutally bad?
Well why Soviet soldiers have to be bad? it's the same people as you. My country as opposed to yours, so to speak peacemaker. but did after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States with its democracy not rude in Eastern Europe and North Africa?

You make an excellent point, and that's partly what I'm exploring in my comic. I think both our countries have had their moments, good and bad, but I'd much rather see us as allies and friends than as enemies. When I was very young, we were frightened of the Soviet Union. As I've gotten older, I've come to believe that what we were really afraid of was the fact that we had never tried very hard to understand each other. But if you put a Russian and an American next to each other, I think you'd have a very hard time telling them apart, and just on the face of it, they'd have no real reason to hate each other unless you brought something artificial into it, like politics or ideology. But those are just words, and in spite of the Cold War, it's proper to remember that we were also very close allies in the Second World War, when we both fought Naziism together. It's a great tragedy of the Twentieth Century that we couldn't keep that spirit of cooperation alive after the war ended, but there's no reason we can't get it back, even now.
That is a major theme in my story - that we are far more alike than we might think, or be told that we are. I can't, of course, defend everything that the United States has done in its history; I think you must feel the same way about Russia as well, if you think about it. But I think our time is far better spent trying to find ways to understand and get along with each other than in finding reasons to fight.
If you read my whole comic (and part is in Russian, actually, thanks to a colleague of mine in Moscow), you'll see that this theme is very important to me, that today's enemy might be tomorrow's friend, and that it is really just in our own minds whether we are enemies or allies. In my story I hope to break down the conventions of American media, which I grew up with, that make the Russians the people it's "okay" to have as enemies. I don't believe it's okay to have ANYONE as enemies. My favorite movies when I was young were the ones where the Americans and the Soviets managed to get over their differences and cooperate. I hope that's what the future holds for the US and Russia.

you are quite right to say. we are all humans, are one in the world, but there are some factors that we are always in the way. I do not want to talk about them because it is a very bad subject, and it prevents the establishment of friendship.
You are a very intelligent man, you are very interesting to talk to. it seems you have some understanding about us, and do not look at us as the Marsians.)))
once again I am very grateful for your comment

Oh, that's mainly just because I happen to like the design of the Tokarev pistol. It's distinctive and heavy and threatening, so I have my main antagonist armed with one. To Western audiences, it's also part of the "Soviet" technology used by the FSR, who are the stand-ins for the USSR in this story - they have much more rugged, "retrofitted" technology based on Soviet designs (like the BTR-60 with the railgun, here).
They appear as typical "bad guys" in the first chapter, but the distinction between the "good" and "bad" sides begins to blur as the story goes on.

Wow - that's a fine design. I still like the Tokarev, though. I might give others the Stechkin, though, it's a really fine-looking weapon. For a while I was using the Makarov PM but it was too small; the TT looked far more threatening, and I was afraid the Stechkin might be confused for an American M1911 too easily.
