Description UPDATE: Hey transfans! Do you like my Transformer humor, but can’t understand why I taint the rest of my gallery with filthy hyooman characters? I’ve opened up a NEW gallery that’s one-hundred percent robot rousings. Transformer jokes will still be uploaded to this gallery as well, so if you like my general jokes then there’s no reason to watch the other site. So if you’d like to follow along Optimus and gang thru transfunny misadventures, head on over to Cappitron!
cappitron.deviantart.com

==========
NOTE:
I know you’ve come to expect auto-butt and decepti-constipation puns in my descriptions. But today I will allow you a peek into the window of the life of the elusive Cappy. See Cappy in his natural habitat of being an awesome human being.
I AM LIKE A MIDAS OF INSPIRATION!!

Q: Where has Cappy been all this time?
A: Working. You should be working too we’re in a recession!!
Transformers toys be expensive, yo, so my paycheck is being dumped into credit cards because as an unemployed youth I just had to have the Japanese exclusive G1 repaint of Astrotrain.
…which was so worth the price!

Despite the impression my gallery of childish fanart would have you believe, I am, in fact, a grown-ass man.
A grown-ass man who went to college.
A grown-ass man who went to college and achieved an Associate’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree, and recently a Master’s Degree.
THE PICTURE YOU ARE LOOKING AT WAS DONE BY A MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK.

I bring this up, because when family friends ask me how I enjoy the life of the working stiff, their jaws drop when I exclaim with no sarcastic or snide tinge that I ADORE it. I can’t wait to go to work. Can you believe someone utters such words? Up is down and down is up, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!! One of the said impressed family friends sat down their child in hopes that I would lecture him on the importance of going to college.
She didn’t realize that Cappy would tell him the truth!

Below is a retelling of the advice I gave to the youth, and vicariously to my underage transfans out there:

Look, if you can go to work at a Game Stop, and genuinely enjoy doing that, then who am I to dispute that? If you can make it your career to argue with PlayStation fans that Xbox is the superior system, then good on ya. And my using the word “career” is the key point here. There are jobs and there are careers. A job is where the only enjoyment you get from your work is counting down the days to the weekend or when payday hits.
That is an awful existence.
If you find yourself hating your job, then you need to be working towards a career.

Conversely (that means opposite!) a career is what you do for the rest of your working days. A career is what fills you with purpose, that excites you and inspires you.

Let’s review:
JOB= fantasizing about brushing your teeth with a bullet
CAREER= positives uttered by you about work aren’t slathered in a fatty layer of sarcasm.

Again, if enjoying blue collar or menial labor fills you with delight or purpose, that’s all that really matters. As for me, I felt there was something missing, and needed to find purpose. That’s where college came in; college expands the amount of available career opportunities, and that is where I found my specific career. We can go into academic enlightenment as another benefit of college. Or we can NOT go into academic enlightenment in the description for a retarded transformer picture!

In all truthfulness, I am doing the job of a pretty generic social worker: I write reports and I meet with foster kids weekly. What turns this …job… into a @}~~~CAREER~~~{@ is my art (the same talent exquisitely illustrated above). I love drawing, kids love drawing. Since I don’t age and still look like I’m sixteen, kids have an easier time bonding with me. Due to my mother forcing me to stay behind during parties and events to assist the host in cleaning after everyone has left, I have the inherent need to help people. I don’t LIKE to help people, I NEED to help; I feel extremely uncomfortable not helping when people are cleaning up, even if they’re the maid service (it takes all my will to not help them in emptying wastebaskets).

Combine all these tidbits of Cappy and you get why I love being a social worker. I am currently doing art trades with all of my foster youth who can hold a pencil and not instinctively draw on walls with it. I tell them what to draw me, they tell me what to draw them, then next visit we trade. This teaches them three things: positive relationships with adults, responsibility, and it shows them that they have a genuine talent that has worth (their drawings will get them a drawing from me). I can’t adequately describe how excited these kids are to see me…well, to see my art for ‘em. Most of them have had turbulent lives, and weekly art trades help create a stable event to focus on. A couple of my fellow coworkers are considering using their hobbies with kids to bond with them like scrapbooking.

And that’s what college did for me. It allowed me to combine my need to assist people and art and bring it to a population that needs a positive outlet.

I'm really happy that you found something you love to do :3 I'm starting my first year of college after the summer, and that's mostly what i'm worried about. The future is not fun r me ecause it envolves a job... how did you find out that social work was what you wanted to do?
I'll totally do an art trade with you, but only if you give me some sort of suggestion to what to do. if you don't i'll just slap down one of my normal drawings and dedicate it to you XD

Here's the thing about bedazzling whatever field you're going into. We all have skills and talents; mine happen to be art, playing, empathy, and looking young so that kids feel comfortable talking to me. I have a general social work job, but I used my skills to make it something I can get excited about.

I dunno what career you're going into, but let's say it's technologies. Your skill might be how well you get along with people or you have a personality that makes people want to interact with you. Using these, you can work on projects where you bring different people together, and your facilitating skills will earn you a career as supervisor material. It just stems from you always coming at an angle that enhances your natural skills.

Dude, I totally drew art for you so suck it.

Also, d'aww that's sweet. Good to know that you're having fun with what you're doing. We learn that in school since 7th grade where I live actually. Our whole High School is designed around picking classes that will help you get to the college you want and to help you learn more. If you want to be an engineer, there are classes for basics in engineering and drawing schematics, if you want to be a chef, there are tons of different cooking classes, banking? We've got classes for that, too.

Actually, do you have any advice on college searching? I'm doing that right at the moment so any advice would be appreciated.

Cappy's ancient Chinese secret: grants and stipends. You kids today with your youtubes and iPads and your taking out loans. I have a cousin who took out nothing but loans and she'll be paying it back for the rest of her life. Loansharks don't even charge the crazypants interest rates of college loans.

Whatever you're interested in, there may very well be financing if you're willing to modify your interest somewhat. So I urge you to see if the college has a stipend program. Stipends are usually geared towards gov'ment jobs but you never know. The college I went to had a stipend program in that they paid for my ENTIRE master's of social work program and all I have to do is work for the government for two years.

CAPPY I DID NOT THINK YOU COULD GROW MORE AWESOME BUT YOU HAVE. I have to say it's not a surprise but it is a surprise. On one hand, you've consistently displayed your deep concern for social ethics and issues of morality in action; on the other, it seems so rare that the Right Person is found in the Right Place these days. Although people can be wildly different in their writing and their ways on the intarweebs than they are in most day-to-day activities, you really do seem like the most awesome social worker ever. EVER.

You earn some more crappy art from this watcher, but it will be an eventual thing long in the future, probably during the first uni break. But reading your rants is like dining for free at one of those meal-and-a-show places, so consider this the equivalent of finally paying for a meal (instead of asking for free water then sneaking out during intermission).

That series of loud, far-off thuds was the sound of your fangirls swooning heavily onto the nearest horizontal surface (similar to the sound of drop-bears hunting, I imagine). I think I put out my shoulder in the swoon, but that's okay - I am typing with a combination of joints, an dit semes to b ewoprking. However, it is not an easy thing to write while swooning constantly. In fact, I can barely type for the swooning. For the safety of your feminine watchers, we may have to find a way to de-activate your charm. : O

I'm also reminded to draw you something. Do you have a preference? I hope you do. Else there's no knowing what you'll end up with.

NO.
KNOWING.

People suggest I go get a doctorate, however, I wanna be a grunt for awhile. It'll help me decide if all my book learnin' was simply just book learnin'. I think it would suck if I went straight to a doctorate but had no social interaction with my knowledge.

Keep pimping the not going to college man, if you don't need it then don't go! Even if you're valedictorian you don't need college if you, say, want to work on cars.

And then there are people like me who want to do something that requires a masters despite my dislike of most of the classes for the masters (I really don't care about reading about how to be a sensitive manager and all that, just throw me in! I'm a Richard Hammond learner, a Hammond learner I tell you!)

Just going to say this, I would have never thought your were the social worker type if only for the fact you don't seem like the other 80% of social work majors who are simpering bints who want to cuddle unicorns. I hope more social workers are like you, with feet on the ground and an appreciation for silly.

Also, word to your pic.
