Description
missing someone..updated description:
a lot of people are asking me what the meaning behind this is.. so i decided to give a better description. this is a description i sent in a thank you note for a recent fave.
this was a very meaningful piece for me. i should have put more of a description though.. im sorry for that. the photos on the wall in the picture are of my mother when she was younger. and the baby picture is me. she passed away when i was only 5. guess thats why i gave it a fuzzy feeling to it. i can hardly remember her.
further... i remember little things. like everyone does who had a parent to pass when they were young. things like christmas and birthdays, etc. The best memory i have is when i accidentally opened one of her presents at christmas in front of everyone. it was lingere. bright red and lacey. i was so embarrassed.
this is dedicated to her.

I founded the photo really moving. And really estetic too.
But the explanation tha goes with it gives all her sense to the photo. It must feel strange... and sad too, I guess. But you have used it in a very talented way to create something with it... This is so beautiful.

It's a very beautiful picture you have dedicated to her. I read an article the other day where a person who claims that he can have contact with those who have left life. This was a very serious article and I must say that I believe him. There is a swedish serie in TV at the moment and he is one of those who participate in it. He says that everybody can communicate with them. And he convinced me..for real! I'm not religious or something like that. I can write more about what he said in the article and how you communicate with the ones that you've lost!
But I remember one thing that he said. He said that those who you have lost are always near you, sometimes behind your back etc. They are still on earth because they care about you. As we both see you think of your mother very often. Therefore she is nearby you all the time, because she cares about you and always want to know what's happening in your life. She loves you very much...and I hope you are fully aware of that. And she will always be behind your back where-ever you are.
Because you think of her and you love her so much...
Take care! My grand-mother is disappeared at the moment due to the war in Iraq (she lives there). I hope she is alive, but the hope is almost gone. I'll think of your mother and my grand-mother tonight when I have some time without everybody around!
lots of hugs!
Hope you don't think I'm a nut-case or something like that!

This is awesome. The colors and contrast on this are great... gives it a real morose kinda feeling. The dual photo set up works vert well; helps give a real feeling as to what the focus and meaning of this piece is. I love the close up and the slight fuzziness to it. great job, +fav

i love this series amanda. the color and the feeling is very mellow and subdued. My only sugestion would be in the first photograph to maybe have placed the camera at a slightly different angle allowing your face to be a little closer to the polarid. great work.

Very good focusing--but with light, not lens. An evocative image.

Photo within a photo. Very nice, and very well excecuted. The composition and lighting are great, and the burst of color in the hand really brings this image to life. You definately convey some emotion with this.
