Description
Hello gang! Happy New Year to one and all. I thought i'd start out 2017 not with a journal blog (although i can do with a new one!) but with a new piccy instead. As comic duties are out of the way for the time being (still need to letter the bugger and start the new few projects), I thought I'd start by scratching a few itches I've been meaning to scratch for a while, so behold the Dirty Pair.UPDATE 08-01-2017: Uploaded the revised drawing. Might upload the first sketch for reference in the scraps.
UPDATE 13-01-2017: Uploaded the colours. Might tweak in future. For the original drawing you can find and compare here.
Dirty Pair byΒ Haruka Takachiho et all. Art by me. Done in pencils and my lost love for Tombo twintip brush pens. A very special thanks to for all his support for all the years.

Shouldn't Yuri's sword be an energy based one. Kei's would be an plasma gauss heavy rifle.

Well, I was experimenting and playing about at the time. As a style choice, I opted for 20th century\ 2nd millennium weaponry to give the girls a more "Well-ard" or more mean vibe to them. Sci-fi faithfulness wasn't part of the equation.

What you couldn't use the rifle from Sergeant Calhoun of Wreck it Ralph?

It's just a cartoon to me, bud.
Also as I recall, the Dirty Pair universe does have a world's world planet that's a recreation of 20th-century culture from the ground up, so petrol-fueled cars and traditional firearms are still viable.

Well, it's appreciated, even if I don't wish to revise an oldie. I'll meditate on the matter the next time I want to draw these lasses, which will be pretty soon, actually. Maybe I'll upgrade the ammunition then.
Thank you for your input, anyway.

I wonder if they'd be called the Clean Couple if they rode to action wearing fully-clothed Bustle Dresses.
Cheers, my good sir!

Ready for action! I wonder what they're looking at.
Happy New Year btw, although a bit late

Wasn't quite sure myself, whatever it is, it's time to swap some lead upside their heads.
Many thanks, and have a Gorgeous New Year to you too.

Looks like their weapons were supplied by the WH40K Imperium.Β

Yeah, Kei's gun does look a bit like a Bolter. Equip these ladies with a few Multi-Meltas and Heavy Assault Cannons and the roar of their guns will be an apt prayer to the gods of destruction indeed.

However, Yuri's blade seems a bit small to be even a concealed holdout weapon, since it doesn't look like it weighs 400 kilograms or more.

True. Against Chaos Dreadnoughts and whatnot she's gonna be a bit up the creak without a paddle isn't she?
She could try flashing her boobs like what Kei did, see if that works.Β

Many thanks. I gotta admit, it was kinda relaxing drawing in all that background rubble.

I actually like it how it is. I don't think it needs colour...Β

Well, I'm flattered you see it that way, but i dare say though that i still need to rise to the challenge nevertheless. For the crime (heh) of having a black and white comic, I've tried to make it a rule that every illustration online has to have colour.
Thanks for the though.
