Description A new scale chart, this time for the Robot Masters of Mega Man 4.

Now, right out of the gate, I need to point out that we do not have canon measurements for these bosses. These are all approximations, what-feels-right-to-me based on the canon 4’4” for Mega, and the average heights of the Mega Man 6 Robot Masters (who we do have canon measurements for).

We do also have the arcade sprites for Dust Man, Dive Man and Pharaoh Man, and I scaled those characters as close to the sprites in comparison to the arcade Mega sprite, on the assumption that without the NES’s limitations, the arcade sprites were much closer to the original “vision” for the characters. Dive Man is a big boy, and that seems entirely right to me. I like the idea that he’s a big ol’ jolly Russian bear of a bot. Voice like BRIAN BLESSED or Mike McShane.

This is also an exercise in me defining how I want to draw the bots for “my style”. It’s definitely influenced by the style of one Derrick J. Wyatt (Teen Titans, Transformers Animated, Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc, Ben 10 Omniverse), but more geometric. He likes “rounded squares and squared rounds”, I like smoother, sharper lines. But the way of defining distinct body shapes, smoothing out and dropping excessive detailing, that’s very Wyatt.

(Also… debating on colors. As in, de-complicating them. Does Ring Man REALLY need two different shades of yellow?)

I'm assuming the cape is from the TV show that aired for a time in 1993 - 1994?

And why does Skull Man associate himself among the Dr. Cossack Numbers? Didn't Wily make him? Whatever, I guess Cossack's bots are always welcoming, and ever since Tundra Man ditched them to pursue his dream of figure skating, Skull Man's been their adoptive baby brobot!

As I stated before, some classic Megaman characters are shorter than usual, which includes Drillman, while Pharoman is still his normal height, also I think that Toads sound kiddy, which is why Toadman is considered a kid in Omega.

Oh yeah, and it's to my memory that every one of the bosses from Megaman 4 appeared in the American cartoon except for Skull Man.

I still don't agree with your height theories.  In this case, Diveman's height comes into question. (Again, the Battle & Fighters series doesn't really seem like the best place to cite heights from...)  But you're entitled to your opinion.  I mean, Ariga draws some of those robots really weirdly, in my opinion, but people consider his work "practically canon".  So...
