Question: How do you know what parts to do in black and which ones to do in white? Does it all depend on shadows? E.g if there is a shadow then it's black?

a reply that's late, but it's not always limited to shadows... sometimes you'll find there's a lot of shadows and your work will be 70% black and that might not be what you're after. Sometimes you can let black take up some of the white spaces for the sake of balancing any dominate white spaces; it's very situational in my opinion. I'm planning to do some black and white character drawing later this week or two, you can check it out during that time, or you can visit my gallery now to see some black and white car drawings I made, it's dated so you'd have to look near the last pages

Did you ink it before you scanned it on computer or did you make it B/W in photoshop?

sometimes I ink in photoshop without scan but for this pic I use pencil sketch,it's too complicate.
