took some inspiration from the MCU's Iron Man. the color palette obviously and some artifacts, I gave him the heavy metal ability because of the black sabbath song that they did use in the first movie at least and in his second form I gave him the reckless ability because of Tony Stark's rather altruistic decisions in the movies...
[SPOILER--- but Honestly if you haven't seen the movies by now, you obviously don't care about the MCU anyway....]

IE- flying a nuke through a wormhole into empty space to blow up an alien army on the other side, not knowing he'd survive the encounter and more recently in the endgame movie.... since the reckless ability boosts the power of attacks that also damage the user, it just seemed right.

had a while to think on it. I'm keeping the wings, since Iroenix is a legendary flying creature, but I added some lines here and there to make them look more robotic in nature.
also, "altruist" form Iroenix had quite a few additions. darker colors, and something to allude to War Machine's over the shoulder cannon.
I'm doing finishing touches now and I'll change the main file here as soon as that's done.

Oh, it actually adds to the og design in a nice way. The Lugia hands were a bit too similar before, not that i cared that much. I find Iroenix so interesting.

I toyed with the idea of having some kind of object that Iroenix would turn into when he's recovering in a deep sleep or something. like xyrneas and yvaltal turning into a tree or reshiram and zekrom becoming those orbs.
but as it stands, I have absolutely no way to even fit him into the Ilas Tani story in a meaningful way... he has a place of origin in the region, but there's nothing for him to do really lmao.
maybe Iroenix turns into something that looks like Tony Stark's heart reactor and the captain America fakemon sleeps in a glacier until somebody brings the shield he used in ancient times near him.
… hmmm, I already have a Goku inspired fakemon… maybe I should do a superman inspired legendary and the four of them could just wreck things duking it out with each other.

That sounds rad! Interesting legendaries you have here. The Heart reactor form and glacier form seem like good ideas, I'd ove to see them in the future.

given that Captain America was the first/ original avenger, it seemed like the right thing to use.
aaaaaand I'm working on line art RIGHT NOW, for him.
got a mewtwo vibe in my opinion, not sure whether I should add plumage to him or leave it as is, because captain America's suit isn't all that flashy, other than the color palette and in the older comics. he had little wing pieces on his mask/ cowl, those are alluded to in this concept along with the star on his chest... but I feel like it's lacking something.

Oh, I love the design and name already! Naming based on the Archaeopteryx is quite a genius idea, i always liked that species and wanted more Pokemon like it. The details seem just enough, adding plumage might be too much. Captain America is indeed more simple looking but it suits him.
It can be pure fighting or fighting-steel. It does look similar to mewtwo, but not too similar. If you want to add something, idk, maybe some decorative shoulder wings? It really looks ok to me as it is.

it's something that happens when it's a late stage evolution sometimes. you're sort of hemmed into certain things in order to make them recognizable as a family. this one turns into this one which then becomes this. but sometimes that aids in the designing process. it's our double edged sword. lol

lol. lugia, archeops and zekrom did inspire the bodyshape. I wanted to go back and rework the very lugia-ish "hands" but I wanted to make sure they still looked like wings... ultimately, I decided that they were fine as is since I was able to add those circuit lines running from his heart to the plasma blasters in his palms.. maybe I'll do something else if I draw a new pose or I'll do another creature based on Captain America and do something else there.
