I love the Beowulf story, and I wanted to do my own interpretation of the character. I tested out a new coloring technique on this one--I'm pretty happy with it. I'd welcome any comments!Related content

Hmm... I actually don't remember, since I drew it a while ago. I think the idea was that the top one was riveted to the robe, then the others dangled from that one.

Ha, ha! I know--that's exactly what I had in mind: an anime twist on Beowulf. I had planned on doing an anime Grendel, too--maybe one of these days.

I think it's really cool how you do the muscles. You keep them looking lean, while mine just make them look bulky. I have to learn how to do that.

Thanks! Well, I kind of cheat--this drawing is more what a human would look like without skin! But exaggerated muscles are a staple of fun drawings! Anyway, just try making your characters more "lean"--the muscles don't have to be big, just very well-defined. Hope that helps!

That sounds cool! Did you get a chance to work on your brother's character? What's the character's name? The Jack-O-Lantern sounds sweet, too! I love drawing Halloween characters! Especially cute little ones! Have you seen my Spookies on my website ([link] )? They're sort of drawn in an Invader Zim style. I have a second set of them, based on various monster movies, but I haven't been able to upload them yet.
