Surfing is something i haven't seen in avatar fanart. this is/was not inspired by that avatar Spirit world thing...i berely made it past chapter (or book) one. not because i couldn't pass it or anything, it was kinda boring.

Yes yes, great pic! When dealing with arms, on men, if the arm is straight down at his side the finger tips should reach mid thigh.... in general... in manga when the legs are stretched for style you may want the hand to come down only to groin level. Another rule people use is to measure the head from the chin to the crown. Thats where the skull would end and not the hair. Then the upper are is one head long the forearm is one head long and the hand is typically one face long. That would be from the bottom of the chin to the normal hair line. its got great detail, and i havent seen anything like it either, but his arm is a bit short, and his chin, well its kinda gone. maybe since its just a sketch you could fix that before the contest is over. ^_^
