So here we are: The last normal episode of Season 7 before the finale. And cue the Starburst shipping! I thought it was great that we got to learn a bit more about Sunburst, finding out what other things he is into. And him spending time with Twilight, Trixie and Maud was just adorable to watch. Then we have Starlight being passive aggressive of the whole situation and not being completely honest with her childhood friend, but she also wanted to please him as well. That scene where we actually got to hear them in their foal voices was adorably cute. Plus that game with the dragons was another cute thing I could add to the list. I'm so glad that Starlight has her own special friendship group now, it's just amazing to see how much her character has grown within her reformation. -sigh- whenever I see an MLP episode with Starlight Glimmer in it, it helps me know one thing: while I am a HUGE Sunset Shimmer fan boy, and I always will be, I just can't help but show some loving support and respect to Starlight Glimmer. you get what I mean, Jenny?

Is there a finale this season? I saw a list of episodes out the corner of my eye (I didn't want to see the whole list, but I needed to click an episode to watch it) and it looked like there wouldn't be enough episodes for "Uncommon Bond" and a finale, or that maybe the finale is only one episode long...Maybe I'm wrong, though, since I did try to avoid looking at the list as much as I could. Either way, kind of a bummer that we're at the end of the season.
Anywho, I really liked this episode. I've felt like a stranger among my own friends, so I could really relate to Starlight's troubles here, especially when one considers that she's still barely learning the ropes of how friendships and being nice work...And it's not helped at all by how Sunburst had a tendency to forget about Starlight and even said he felt so connected to Twilight right in front of his childhood friend.
The scene where Starlight wanted to get apple juice really stuck out to me, as it told you the main problem Starlight and Sunburst have; Sunburst got to grow up, become an adult and learn all kinds of hobbies, but Starlight retreated into her fear of loneliness and never outgrew her childhood memories and expectations of friendship (she may have become smart and self-sufficient as an adult, but she did so in very anti-social ways). They confirmed this when Starlight's idea of fixing her friendship problem with Sunburst was to literally go back to their childhoods. I thought that was a great bit of characterization for Starlight and I like that Sunburst was justifiably freaked out by the idea, but that they didn't try to say Starlight was selfish or insane so much as scared and still thinking like a melodramatic villain at times.
Nice picture for this episode; it very clearly and succinctly shows the conflict of the episode and Starlight's mindset. I also applaud you on getting Maud's attitude across with just a few brush strokes.
