Description
A Grackle searching for food right before the sun went behind the trees. The iridescent feathers reflected beautifully.I have two good shots of this bird - one where he is facing away from the camera - while that one has more color reflection, I like that he's looking over his shoulder in this one.

I think it's a beautiful photo. It takes something many of us see every day and makes us look again. The colors and the composition are wonderful. I particularly like the background. It is interesting without being too distracting, and the grackle stands out perfectly. Lovely work!

Thank you! I do hope it lets people see a side of this bird that they don't normally get to see

grackles are interesting birds! I know lots of people find them annoying but I love their call and you've done wonderfully with capturing the sunset color on him

People tend to ignore just how beautiful they really are - the colors of their feathers are amazing in the right light.
Thanks for the kind comment

Yeah - I'm glad it came out pretty clear. Dark birds at duck as tough to capture!
