Description
So, after posting my quick cake recipe, asked if I had any other quick dessert recipes and I promised to post my quick fudge! Here it is for you to enjoy, freshly made.Ingredients:
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
You can substitute the pecans for any other nut you like or leave them out completely. You could try around with dried fruit or candied fruit or other things, if you like.
Instead of maple syrup you can use any other syrup or even liquor. If you use more liquid stuff, like a liquor, use about half of the amount of maple syrup indicated above.
Put chocolate chips in a glass bowl, melt them in the microwave for 1 minute, stir well, heat for another minute, stir again, repeat until you have a smooth, creamy texture and all chips are melted (about three minutes). Add the sweetened condensed milk and syrup, stir until well blended. Add the nuts (optional) and stir in.
Spray a 13'' square pan with cooking oil (or brush some oil in it) and line with plastic food wrap (the oil helps the wrap stick to the pan). Let the wrap overhang the pan slightly, try to smooth it down well.
Fill the fudgy mix into the pan and smooth down the surface. Refrigerate for at least two hours. Cut into small portions.
The fudge keeps well in the fridge, just place the pieces into an air tight container.
You can also use milk or white chocolate, but it gets way too sweet for my taste then. Try some different options and have fun with the recipe.

Haha, well, if it doesn't harden up enough to make fudge, you can still call it a pudding and spoon it all up. Hope the taste is good at least.

Ah, evaporated milk is much more watery and much less sweet than the sweetened condensed milk, so yeah, it'd taste quite different! Try the sweetened condensed, it's much much tastier.

I think some cookie recipes use it, I've never really used it much though. Try searching for it on allrecipes.com you can search by ingredients there.

I don't know what it is, but I've always been utterly terrified of making fudge. I just have memories of my mum stirring boiling fudge on the hob and being scared of getting scalded.
But this looks delicious so I may have to get over my ridiculous fear and give it a go!

Ah yes, that would be the old fashioned way she worked, then. This one is really easy and doesn't get that hot at all, just to chocolate melting temperature, so no reason to be scared.

OMG, that looks so good!
Looks like (and the recipe sounds like) the fudge my grandma sent at Easter. I think I'll have to try the recipe to see if it is! (That's just an excuse, I want to make it so that I can eat more fudge!)
Sounds like it's not only quick, but easy! And it looks delicious.

It's a pretty standard fudge recipe, I just added the syrup and pecans. So it's possible that your grandma made something like it. I hope you enjoy, let me know how it turns out for you!
