Lucky you! I should have taken the camera out - I thought it looked brighter!

I saw it as it had just risen and it looked enormous! Looking back, I should have gotten a photo of it. We took some more photos when the Moon was higher in the sky but have not looked to see how good they are.
This photograph of the Moon is quite iconic. Amazingly clear for not using a tripod. Well done!

I think if I could have gotten it closer to the horizon it would have been bigger looking. But I was happy with what I got! Thank you.

I kept trying to get a shot closer to the horizon, but where I live the horizon is all obscured by houses and other buildings. I managed to get a couple of semi-okay shell shots as it rose behind the trees & houses in the neighborhood. Of course, Rene's shots are better because of the type of camera...but I am lucking to have a night setting on my cell phone, and a couple of the shots were pretty cool... This is fantastic. (And Rene was muttering about needing to get a tripod...lol)

Thanks. Yeah.. same at my house. Lots of population and not too much clear sighting of the horizon. I have a few tripods and rarely every use them!!

cloudy weather here
a very good shot, crisp and detailed. i know it's not so easy to photograph the moon that way. even the slightest shale of the camera gets terribly amplified by the distance.

I didn't use a tripod but should have I know. Bracing myself against the railing on the porch seemed to help. Mostly cloudy here but I got a shot at a moment when it was clear.

no tripod?
well i looked now at the shot parameters, 1/250 sec generally allows freehand shooting, but when the subject is at such a distance, often a tripod is required.
kudos.

Yes, the moon was amazingly bright and I knew I needed to get some speed going. :-D

Fantastic... our view also was a little cast over last night but the previous night was pretty fantastic. Lovely, thanks for sharing - lucky lady getting to spend your winters in Cali.

I managed to get a shot before it got all covered in clouds.
