It's very hard to do. But if you can let something go or not dwell on a hurt someone has inflicted, you'll feel better. Just be wary not to let the person do it again.

Sometimes the best way to forgive is to try and see the problem from the other person's point of view; put yourself in their shoes for awhile to see why they might have acted the way they did. That way, they don't seem so sinister and evil. They just look like people who made a foolish mistake in judgement.

It doesn't mean that you say: "it's OK that you stabbed me in the back; I don't mind." It means that you say: "I don't like being stabbed in the back and won't permit it ever again; but I'm not going to fixate on it any more."

Does this make sense?

Yes that makes sense. I guess it all depends on what was done in the first place. Somethings you just have to let a higher power deal with. I've got a two faced relative who really done me wrong a few years back and I've had a hard time letting go of it ever since. Unfortunately, it's a long story and my Grandma is gone now, so it won't really ever be solved. I just don't associate with that Aunt now.

Sometimes putting distance between yourself and the offender is the best thing you can do. It's a sorry situation but I totally understand, and I probably would do the same thing.

if you knew the whole story, you'd probably wanna bite nails. I know I do to this day, but it won't bring Grandma back or any of the time I lost with her.

That's so true. It's time to let it go. Your grandma already knows your heart is good, Sarah.
