Description
A Weeping Angel holding the TARDIS key from the Doctor Who episode Blink.
This should've been done in December already, but uni work really got in the way. So here it is now, all set and ready to freak you all out. I finished most of the top panel today, which still is quite sooner than I expected. All credits for the odd shades go to the DW crew
Strangely enough I had great fun drawing the hand and mouth. Those are usually the things I'm struggling with, but I got both right in one go so yay!
I think for once there wasn't anything I really struggled with in this case. I should draw more Doctor Who stuff, apparantly.
And remember; don't blink. Don't turn your back. Don't look away.
Prints of this artwork available at my Society6 shop !
Done with:
× Canson Aquarelle Fontenay paper (300g/m²)
× .3 & .5 mm mechanical pencils
× 2B pencil
× Kneadable eraser
× Eraser pencil

You know, I don't mind staring at this for hours and hours. Gorgeous pencilwork.
And this reminds me that I should *really* finish that A3 Weeping Angels drawing I've got in my drawer. I'm gonna do something about it after my exams.

Thank you so much!
You should! I find that Weeping Angels are very fun to draw. Maybe it's the robes.

*is still looking at it*
If you don't hear from me tomorrow, then please come and pick me up from 1969.
I made a mistake by placing a guy with a timey-wimey detector in the middle of the drawing. And small faces aren't really my thing. So this is why it has taken me so long. I think I should start it all over again, because in my experience, lineart totally has an expiration date.

Sorry for disturbing your daily routines with this.
I'll pick you up tomorrow, once I get this TARDIS going to the planet I want it to go.
Uh oh small faces And a timey-wimey detector is hard to draw too (I guess
). I'm lazy when it comes to lineart.
But it does have an expiration date, the longer I haven't worked on a certain lineart, the less likely it is I'll ever pick it up again. When I've already started on the shading the odds that I'll pick it up again increase dramatically.

o_o My eyes are getting a bit tired. And the fact that my nose is running isn't helping, my eyes feel watery, too. The problem with picking up old lineart is that meanwhile you've had plenty of time to become better at drawing and then the old outlines look really crappy and you see that it cannot end up good.
It happens to me all the time, because I have so many outlines lying around.

Have you recovered from your staring already?
Well I don't improve so fast (or at all, at times ) so that's not really the problem with me. It's more that I have phases. Sometimes I'm very enthusiastic about something, a certain character or movie or book or whatever. So whenever I want to pick up an old lineart I usually am not as enthusiastic about it as I was before, which dramatically decreases my motivation to work on it.
Luckily, I don't have many outlines lying around.
