Description
[UPDATED: 8/30/2018][UPDATED: 12/3/2015] I have improved the shading in this drawing and a few other tweaks to make it look better. I hope you guys like this updated version!
Bayonetta from Bayonetta 2.
This one took a lot longer than expected, I couldn't wait to finish it and get it over with. There are a couple TINY details I left out due to how small they are. May not make another Platinum Games drawing for a while lol.
I hope you guys like it and thank you in advance Β to those who Favorite!

Beautiful pencil work. The shading that makes her ass so supple and the feather highlights brings her together with flowing movement. Well done. Β

Haha Thank you so much, Bantechyne!! I'm happy to know that you like it!
I used both Pressure Shading with HB/2B mechanical pencils (0.5 mm) & Blending using a Q-tip/cotton balls. I used different levels of pressure to get lighter or darker values out a of an HB mechanical pencil. I also started my shading by shading the darkest shadows and then blending those out into lighter shades.
I hope that helps. Thank you!

If everyone had your kind of response, maybe I'd comment more often.
I respect traditional work much more than most 3D art because, especially with a pencil, it's all you.
Β This is one of my old drawings

There are rumors going around that she might be DLC. Just keep your fingers crossedΒ Β . If she was officially announced as DLC, I would cry tears of joy, because Bayonetta is my all time favorite female video game character. Β Β

What is your strategy and techniques for these drawings
π: 0 β©: 1
Naitho In reply to TonyC-DemonKnight [2015-01-13 10:34:29 +0000 UTC]
When I work on my Line-Art, I try to put every important detail I can while also placing some of my own. ( I never draw every detail from the reference, thats insane lol). My shading approach is to shade the dark shadows first followed by the gray shadows, then the highlights with the help of an eraser. Since I'm right-handed, I shade from the top-left of my drawing down to the bottom-right to prevent smudging. I also shade in a cross-hatch style to get really dark values without adding too much pressure on both my paper and pencils. Sorry I took so long to reply lol.

Oh ok that's a good strategy I usually start off with construction before I start adding the detail.
