Right now I'm on a self imposed challenge to give a HTF character I kinda hate an appealing design.
I'm going to be drawing fucking Flippy.
Why? Well when I started off drawing HTF characters a few years ago I got embroiled in a few arguments with homophobic chucklefucks
Both of them liked drawing Flippy as the manriest manry man ever who was super heterosexual and str8 with Flaky (or oddly enough Petunia?) and showed nothing but derision for more effeminate interpretations of Flippy and for slash/yaoi art
I started drawing Flippy as a Bara guy in retaliation to their bullshit.
Or what in Western gay culture would be referred to as a "bear"

I don't actually hate Flippy, Flaky or any character on the show really
what I do hate about Flippy is that...
-let's face it, he's a terrible mass of stereotypes about the mentally ill.
-Lammy does everything he does only better
-Flippy's fanboys (for example the aforementioned homophobes) are a bunch of elitist shitheads, douchebags, and really like harassing younger/less experienced artists. Look at how badly they treat anyone who made a "flippy sue" back in the day
-Said fanboys are also edgelord pretentious pieces of shit
-Barring that, Flippy doesn't even WORK with the show very well- the point of the show is that it's supposed to be a surprise that blood and gore happens in the world of the show at all, and Flippy, wearing his army uniform, spoils that surprise. Not to mention, his "gimmick" steals the spotlight every episode he's in. He's sort of an edgy gary stu only canon. Which makes people who get mad at "Flippy-Sues" hypocritical to the extreme
