This is just simply breathtaking. There is no better word for it... Just breathtaking. The lighting dynamics with the background just make the wolf look all the more impressive.

I love things with a lot of contrast. I was afraid at first that it was going to look just like a light colored wolf pasted on a dark background and not like the wolf belonged there. (my real-life best friend made a comment indicating that when I has first started)... so I'm glad you enjoy the lighting and that it came out alright.

I need to stop painting fur. It takes WAY too much time. I'm trying to find a quicker way to change colors without getting rid of the natural texture. It's just not worth it time-wise for all the extra effort. I tried something new on this one, but then ended up over-working it out of habit anyway. lol.

When I recolor, I usually adjust the levels first (control + m) to either make the wolf darker or lighter depending on the color, and then I adjust the hue and saturation (control + u) to change the color! That method usually preserves the fur texture on the wolf, and then you can mess around with smudging and painting to get the effect you're looking for. BASICALLY HOW I ROLL, but then again you're 39750937 times better than me, so you probably already have an awesome method! Plus your fur is amazing, so even if painting fur is incredibly time consuming, it still pays off!!

no no it's totally okay. Actually, when I first started manipping I used gimp a lot, and honestly I think it has better color settings for using layer modes to adjust the colors, but meh. Photoshop is so nice though. I just need to experiment. But thanks! I'll definitely try that out on my next one. I still have some owed art/manips to do so I'll try it out next.
