In short, this was going to be held off for awhile (being submitted) cause I wanted my previous image to stay on my page, and cause I didn't want to be accused again of copying HG's Masurao despite the true story behind the creations. But, she submitted [this] a day or two ago. It really makes me miss her stripes and overall old design quite a bit. v.v I changed her due to copyright reasons and sometimes wish I didn't...
Alltho, in the Broken manga storyline, her clan (yet to be named) is built for speed and efficiency instead of power. They prefer to defend than directly attack a majority of the time. Reason for the streamlined look, extra middle toe for balance/holding wieght, the limited but essential clothing, short hair and armour only where it's really needed. Abydos herself chooses to carry a knife rather than use her sickle-claw for personal reasons.
Sorry for the cheap PS background thing. I spent a total of about 9hrs on just Abydos so I was too scared to put in a drawn background in fear of ruining it or her not suiting the BG. I also noticed that the purple seems to look much more blue than I want it too...see the scale ref above to see what I mean. I hopefully plan to REdraw up a reference for her this year, I drew and inked one already but she's changed even more since I did it so it's back to starting over again. x.x

I totally love Abydos o_o Her colorscheme is so pretty and her markings are so well laid out and I love her hairstyle~ Pose and anatomy are really nice here and the colors are wonderfully smooth. I also rather like your 'cheap' background, it brings out all of the colors quite nicely.

Ahh! I haven't seen her in a while. Aww, she looks amazing! I'm so glad you drew her again! I must say, I almost thought you did the background in coloured pencil! Heh, good choice while doing it in PS. I do love her purple colour. You use it so well with her stripes that it's not overwhelming, you almost just want to dive into that purple abyss. (ha, I'm weird, ignore me). The proportions look like they were really hard and took a while. I could never do that! Do you use references when you draw these? Or maybe you're familiar enough with the anatomy that you can just do it from the top of your head. Anyway, her expression is great in this one and the dagger is so shinny! You really are doing a great job of not just colouring the whole picture the same, but capturing the different textures, and temperatures I guess. The dagger looks so cold! The only thing that I see that stands out funny to me is her feet. I understand she is used for speed (as I read in the description) but her paws look a bit small. Woman have their balance in their hips but they do need the support from their feet as well. For some reason, I feel as if for the proportions in this picture, she may not be able to stand up balanced. That's just me though. (shrug) Maybe if they were also bigger because she is built for running and uses those claws for momentum, maybe that would make more sense to me. I dunno, ignore me if you want, I don't mind.

I like both designs. This one is really original, I must say, since everyone has stripes these days. But still if you know you want the stripes back then just get them! No one as the right to stop you.

As far as her design is concerned, if you really want to re-design her then feel free to, honestly lol. I'm not stopping you. The only thing that is is you seem to believe that it would violate copyrights if you did otherwise. 
Well anyhow. Do what you wanna do with Aby, hun. She's your character, your original creation. She came first remember? So you have every right to do as you please with her design, I'm not gonna spit and whine if you choose to change her back to how she was lol. Sometimes I wish you had made her red, black and white... then I would never have "taken" your original design without knowing it lol. Probably why it made you so upset. But oh well... that's life I suppose. You could have changed Zigen around somehow so that she could have been red. 
Well, chin up ne? Honestly, design her how you want to, don't not do things because of me or anyone else. I want you to do what you want to do, not something you don't.
Well anyhow....
The picture is absolutely lovely hun, I really like it more than I can say. The pose is awesome, and I just love her expression. She sounds to have an interesting story too.

I think I like her design, both ways, with stripes, and the stream lined look. But maybe in the future, youll come out with a better design idea and go with that instead. Who knows. But you shouldnt worry too much about copyright, because she is an original character afterall.

If you like the stripes put the stripes back. It's really as simple as that. Stripes are not copyrighted and if they were there would be alot of tigers in the world being arrested for it.

Crap itchie trigger finger, I forgot to comment on how I like the markings, they provide a sense of motion to the character weather moving or not, espically the white parts......
